"Hamza Shahbaz" In a recent meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari pleaded with him not to dissolve the assemblies and promised a new setup after consultations, according to sources on Wednesday.

Days after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan threatened to dissolve provincial assemblies in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; the two leaders met on Sunday to discuss a new political approach.

In the meeting held in Islamabad, topics of "mutual interest," the nation's state, Punjab's current political climate, the threat of assembly dissolution, and other issues were covered. The meeting was attended by federal ministers Tariq Bashir Cheema and Rukhsana Bangash.

According to the sources, Zardari assured Shujaat that the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Hamza Shahbaz, would not be the new chief minister of Punjab.
Shujaat promised the former president that he would speak with Parvez Elahi, the chief minister of Punjab.
To discuss the political climate in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a potential motion of no confidence against the Punjab chief minister, Zardari has started holding talks with his allies.

The Imran Khan-led PTI has been attempting to pressure the current administration to call immediate elections and has been in talks to set a date for the general elections. The PTI has threatened to dissolve the provincial assemblies if elections are not reached. Hamza Shahbaz

CM Elahi stated that he did not anticipate elections happening in the upcoming four months. The federal and provincial governments need time to work, so elections cannot be held before four months; therefore, the elections may only take place after October of the following year.
Despite the PML-Q leader's repeated claims that he fully supports the PTI leader's choices, his words counter Khan's threats to dissolve the assembly soon. Hamza Shahbaz
